Phantom/Ghost - Born With A Nervous BreakdownYep, the german accent is noticable.
Not a great voice IMO or the guy isn't simply showing it off in this song. Nevertheless, live act is practicly without any major vocal errors. But his voice seems tired, he looks tired.
Song itself is really minimalistic but goes well with vocals wich are strongly based on repetetive phrase (title).
Not exactly my cup of tea, thus only
7/10I don't like alternative rock bands (or indie, as so may call them - still bugs me why though). I listened to lot's of them on MTV2 when I was about fourteen, bands like
The Strokes,
The Interpol and other
the bands. And while I admit it, I like some singles (for ex. "
Hard To Explain" or "
Reptilla" by the previously mentioned The Strokes) their albums are too uneven in terms of equality. Too much uneven. The only exception I remember was the first album of
Kasabian wich was... hm... stylish and atmospheric.
Anyway, here is a song that I like very, very much because of it's atmosphere and style. Simple track, but how well excecuted.
Monster In The Machine - SaviorOr for those who want rate something more
mainstream-ish... here is a song that anime fans know from Hellsing anime. It was it's ending.
Mr. Big - ShineNot the best song, technically speaking, of Mr. Big (blame it on the lack of Gilbert who recently returned, along with Billy Sheehan), but a nice one, simple, uplifting one.
