Classic. What else there is to say? Do I like it? Yes, it's a good song, so as the band itself, but it's not my piece of candy. Easy to listen - in a good way.

Orignal, nice concept but I found it somehow annoying.

So, in my subjective opinion -

because I honor originality and good ideas. But the effect of it was not so great.



And, from me, a... hm... melodic metal song of sorts. The band is called Cloudscape and as for now they've released three albums. I only know two of them, they're nice although not every song is a great one. Well, this one is. Melody & lyrics are what gets me every time.

Breaking Benjamin - Blow Me Away

It was an okay song when I first heard it, but it was so over-used by video music makers (mostly by amateurs - "300" movie video, lots of AMV stuff) that I puke at seeing just the title. It's unoriginal and becomes boring after second listening. It doesn't have the power that it should have. Vocals are annoying and typical for a modern metal from USA. Yes, I'm not a fan of that kind of singing.

Daft Punk - One More Time

DP (not Deep Purple... although... Very Happy) fan here.

"Discovery" given in form of a "Interstella 5555" movie is a great concept album, but one more time is not the best track on it. IMO the best on "Discovery" are "Voyager", "Superheroes" (good on a dancefloor) and "Verdis Quo". But this song is great one nevertheless, and a part of my teenage life. I had to admit I've met one nice girl while dancing to it on my friends home party Cool, so the rating could be higher because of the sentiment, but I'll save it Very Happy.

So - 8/10 from me.

Well... the stuff sounds pretty foundational, and would no doubt be (and probably is) a great building block for a greater track, but IMHO, it got very repetitive very fast by itself. If it weren't for Flat Eric in the video, I'd have have hit the upper right X early.

5/10 from me.

Mr. Oizo stuff is meant to be repetetive - it's that kind of music.

The Sims: Makin' Magic - Buy Mode Theme 1

While The Sims series make my skin crawl, I have to admit it has decent elevator music (like almost all Maxis games - f.ex. SimCity 3000 had some nice tunes). It creates nice background and this particular track has a nice french feeling to it. As a tune for a game - I say I like it. But it just doesn't stand out as an stand-alone track.

And I'll rate it as a stand-alone track, so 6/10 for it.

A relatively quite young band from Brazil (many fine bands are coming from that country lately) wich, as for now, released only one album wich I've bothered to order on some german site because it's so damn good. Hard Rock, or AOR like some like to say with lot's of progressive touch to it. Personally - I love it.

Positive message. Hard riffs. Emotional intenseness in instrument and voice that feels honest and doesn't give a wet slap about being called cheesy for it. Something in that verve I haven't heard coming out of the 1990 onward.

Kind of obnoxious al fine, though.

I give it a 9 out of 10.

9/10 for that song. It's excellent. One thing is, it's very slow. Great if you're in a mellow mood, but for people who prefer faster-paced songs, silence would be preferable.

Hm. I can't say I liked it. First of all, quality of recording was bad IMO. Vocalist was kind of annoying and the rythmic section was bland.

I can't give more than 4/10.


Ok., I know I personally don't rate lyrics, but here's something that it's strenght lies in lyrics IMO. It's a polish song, a one from my youth, very melancholic to me and I guess my first "serious" girl. Translation is below in spoilers tab :
