According to the police records, the crime rate amongs adults in Poland is decreasing, while the crime rate among underaged is rising quite fast. And among youngsters, there are more girls that are commiting mild or serious crimes than boys. More girls are getting drunk, stoned, they're more violent than boys and commit violent acts more frequently.
I'm not a parent, I don't have sister and my female cousins are decent human beings, at least in my opinion, so I don't know why is that happening?
Sociological reasarch showed that these girls are in most cases from normal homes, with decent families, 8 on 10 are single child so they can have all their parents attention. Yet they're more brutal over silly things (lip gloss or teenage fight over a boy) and they treat threats that they're saying more seriously than boys (i.e. you bitch, slut, whore - in girls mouth they mean more than in boys).

You know, I tend to be cautious in my judgement about these reports, most of girls below the magical age of 18 that I know are pretty normal teenagers, interested in common stuff, one is pretty weird and excentric, but they're overall a decent bunch.
Yet the situation I've faced today, pretty drastic, made me belive in those reports, although I still hope that it was single occurence.

I riding on my bike, for kicks and for my overall physical condition, and being a little tired after hour or so, I decided to sit on a bench and let my legs rest a while.
And then I saw a group of five girls, no older than 16 years old, no less than 14, to my right. They stopped right in front of me, so I looked up at them.

"What the fu** are you looking at?" one said in an inept grunting voice.

I blinked few times. If that was a man I would be already standing and ready to some fist-face kissing, but that was unexpected, so I only moved my hand to my ear.

"Excuse me? What did ya said?" I asked and added "A little more culture kid".

"Fu** off, you're a sick pervert, you were cheking us out" the main girl acted tough.

I couldn't help but laugh.

"What? What could I check out on you? Get the hell away from me and learn some manners" I waved hand at them.

"I'm gonna call the police and you're gonna be assfuck**d in jail, you pedo" she said and took out her mobile.

I snatched it from her hand and stood up.

"Listen you little cu**, I don't know who the fu** do you think you are, but I belive your parents did a messy job raising you" and shoooo went the phone as I thew it into a grassy sideway. That enraged the girl, and I guess shocked her suite.

And then - she started to beat me.

My response? Quite obvious. A backhand that sent her down on the pavement, straight on her ass.

Other girls in deep shock, one wanted to assault me too, but I raised my hand at her and she stepped back. You might think that from a slap like that the girl would be crying? Hell no, she started cussing at me - "fu**, di**, mother****" and all the precious things that you can imagine along with threats of getting me jailed included.

Nevertheless, I took my bike and walked off a bit before I sat my ass on it and drove away.

Fukken impertinence! My blood stopped boiling after I dashed all my way home, wich wore me out totally.

It makes me mad that a little flea like that could actually tell on me to the police, things like that aren't uncommon, and I would be jailed without questions asked, even if not, they would have a police file on me as a suspected paedophile or rapist. Or both.
There are some girls from the margin that blackmail poor chaps with cash like that, and they're feeling hopeless. Heck, I was glad that I smacked that little shiet, it's not like they're gonna go to the police, things like that don't happen. It's not their modus operandi.

But, fukk, what the hell is going on with the youth? I know, I know, our fathers and grandfathers asked that before, but nowdays I feel like these charges are pretty much justified. God dammit, and I'm only in my early 20's! Am I a grandpa already or is there is really something wrong with the current society?

I wrote about it on polish forum, I even wrote where the even took place and I've got few replies with one guy stating that a simmilar thing happened to him. So it's not a single sad event, after all.

To sum it up : just a long ehhhh.

(sorry for the long post)

Wow... just... wow. I don't think many males would even confront someone like that. Not here anyway, except maybe if they want to steal your phone or stab you, but not to just be provocative.

Well, she was rude to the point of excrements flowing out of her mouth, she was threatning me and she assaulted me physically.

I did what Sean Connery would do : <in scottish, Connery-like accent> "I just schlap the bitschh"

If she'd wanted to steal my phone (wich I doubt, my phone is 6 years old brick) I'd do the same, and if she'd wanted to stab me (wich, thank god, isn't common) and if I would survive it, I would drag her ass personally to the police, although that wouldn't be wise. Remember - you're the male, you're the assailant, the current tendency in social views based on political rightiousness, tolerance and equality ([i]oh, the irony), at least in my country.

I read a lot about social services and the overall sociological aspects of life in Netherlands, Sweden mostly, but the things I've read are fukken Orwellian.

It saddens me that girls tend to take the worst things male world can offer and multiply them by ten.

Pietja, I'd like to apologize on behalf of the female gender >.< I'm only 20, but I feel a lot like you do. Today's youth are out of control, and I look around at some of the things these kids, especially the girls, are doing and I think to myself "Dear lord, my parents would have throttled me for doing half that crap." I saw a teenage girl completely cussing out her dad and brother, and looked over at my friend (male, but he still was like O.o right along with me) and we both were shocked at how her dad just stood there and took it. Seriously, what the heck?!?!

I blame human rights. No public school beatings = less discipline. / end joke.

But seriously. Many people here, especially teachers, would do a lot better if "bodily punishment" as it is roughly translated would be allowed again. Sure being hit by a stick isn't what 'civilized' people would do, but dammit it scared kids damn good. But then again, it hurts... a lot Razz

483What grinds your gears? - Page 20 Empty Re: What grinds your gears? Mon Sep 13, 2010 2:36 pm

Pietja

No, not human rights.

The problem lies in child rights being held by goverment not by the parent. The politicians that form the parliament, diet (i.e. Japan) or sejm (i.e. Poland) nowdays care about two things :

- money & power (these two go together)
- good press

So they're influenced by forth goverment - the media. Media on the other hand, mass media to be precise, are influenced by novelties, and such novelties are often brought by the tide-changing non-governmental institutions like, f.ex. PETA, UNICEF etc. wich are, I admit it, to some extent doing good work, but nowdays they're behemoths that need fuel. And that fuel is money. Search the web, check blogs of various authors to see how much cash goes to these kind of organizations and think about how much actually goes to the management or other, smaller non-governmental institutions that subject to these bigger. That's how they work, I'm afraid.
These big institutions have media time, because they have money - you need to pay to be seen in television or you have to play a fool in programs like Idol and simmilar. Having media time and attention, they brainwash the masses with nice words and the thousands of centuries old guilt-machine (hi there, catholic church) so masses won't protest when these organizations press on the goverments to make changes in law or even constitutions.
And there we have - closed circle of dependances.

In conclusion, nowdays parents don't hold power over their children. Think about statements like "a child isn't parents property". But, at the same time, that child is, de facto, a goverment's property! Yes, lady from social care services can take a child into custody with no real problems. I read that in Sweden it's a plague. Well, soon it will be the same here where I live.

Kids aren't stupid. They know their rights, and they abuse them. They know that they can do more than adult can because, in their opinion, it's the adult that would be punished, the parent, in fact or, like in my case I had today - the suspected "pedo". Kids aren't stupid. But they are reckless. They need a guide and goverment doesn't have time to play with kids. The goverment (yeah, I know, one could yell fight the power! or fukk the system Very Happy) on the other hand can't see the course of action, that in fact they're rising a bad quality of human beings.
Saddest thing is that parents often willingly allow this to happen, like Aimereta stated in her example. And when it's too late, they're too afraid to take action, because of the law that is against them and against parenthood.

Again, I don't have children, and with that course of action I don't think I'm willing to sacrafice my comfy life of a single to have a threat of a brat having something about my methods of education, talking to a policeman and getting me jailed. No, thank you, I don't want that.
With those kids I know I talk like with adults, like with someone equal. My friend is a teacher in middle school, he's getting balder every day because of the things he can see in his school, but he does the same - he treats his pupils like adults, but he doesn't allow them to forget that he's the boss in that mess he runs. And it works. My mother is a teacher, and I know what it means to have responsibilities while having the knowledge of being dependant. We never abused each other trust and we know we can count on ourselves, not because of the fact that we're a family or because of a feeling of mother-son duty, but because of the fair deal, an example of how one should act when word is given.

This ends my current rant and once again sorry for the long post. Very Happy

What do you guys think of the new DmC?

Most persons thinks the franchise is dead.

All info in a nutcake:

The world is a modern day world where the line between good and evil is thin. Capcom says there is more going on in the Trailer/Game then we see. Almost every1 thinks Dante is Emo.

I advise you to read about current crisis in Japanese gaming industry and their unablity to understand why their games are selling poorly overseas.

Square-Enix and Capcom way of thinking, to be precise.

Japanese devs think of overseas like this, in most cases - America, realism, muscled bald men, guns, guns, guns.
Capcom admitted that America likes realism, so I guess that in chara design they try to go with that. Don't know how it will sell in Japan though.

I can understand why Capcom/Ninja theory have "westernised" Dante. I think the trailer is actually very well done. But I think it's a number of reasons.

Western developers have often played second fiddle to Japanese developers, even during the rise of the Playstation giving western devs more influence. As a result it's kind of caused a "Vacuum effect" as I call it, where the market was once oversaturated with anime styled games, especially in the period where anime imports (starting with Pokemon, Sailor Moon etc) became commercialised. This "Vacuum effect" has meant that people are getting sick and tired of Japanese anime games, especially now western developers are capable of matching or surpassing what Japan brings out. With better tech comes more realism. Games no longer need to be creative. Games used to have to be imaginative with violence, but better graphics mean more blood and less substance. Heroes no longer need to have giant green hair and massive swords. They can now be generic baldheaded super soldier types, or "gay space grunts" as I've heard 4Chan call them because they star in a game that wows 13 year old kids who shout verbal insults down Xbox live.

Going back to Dante, this is just a way of making him more marketable to kids of today. I bet very few kids who play games nowadays have even played a Devil may Cry game and probably played nothing but Gears of War and so probably see the established Dante with white hair and massive sword and probably think him a very girly looking chap. That don't sell anymore.

Example: 4chan flooded gamespot's villain polls and voted "General RAAM" a generic soldier like villain from Gears of War over Sephiroth, an established villain, simply because they were sick of an anime styled villain. That's probably enough proof.

Approval from fanbase or money - guess who wins? Very Happy

I too voted general RAAM. Just for the lulz. And because of that the devs will make more "realistic", brutal, mindless antagonsits. Because of 4chan action made for lulz.
Just like with Rick Astley on MTV Awards. Seeing Tokio Fan rage over the youtube and various blogs was priceless, you can't buy that with Mastercard. Very Happy

As for japanese devs - lot's of people are giving up on the industry, like the author of original and fun game Beautiful Katamari who told that the industry sucks dokey ass and went back to his other project - developing and building a public playground for kids.
I approve and from bottom of my heart I hope that the big-cash gaming industry will collapse like a colossus of Rhodes giving space to something more original.
And no, 3D and move-reading devices are not original. There's a difference between fad and originality.

Mornings like this one. Same scenario as always :

- it starts in the evening before it, by little burning sensation in your throat.
- you wake up with runny nose, you're a little dazed and your throat burns like fukk.
- you decide to stay home, take pills, syroups and other medical shiet that you have and realize you ran out of 80% of it in your house, so you have to go out to the nearest pharmacy looking and feeling like cow's excrement.
- you spend a nice ammount of money on that so-called "medicine" with with knowledge that most of that expensive shit helping power lies in being oblivious about it's effects or beliving in that stuff written on the box, but in fact you know that most of it relies on placebo effect. And thanks to that knowledge - no placebo effect, but, shit, you're still buying it hoping that cramming your immune system with it will indeed help you somehow.
- you come back home, take that yellow & red pills, drink that sour medicine and make yourself some tea and sit down before computer screen even though your eyes hurt because you can neither sleep, you find reading those books that you've promised yourself to read months ago tedious and there's nothing on tv besides brain-dead stupid sitcoms, disney channel and 24/7 news channel and the last thing you need in your state is to listen to some politics rambling and superstars out of themselves.
- you think about why you're sick and you realize that you were to intimate with that cute girl last evening. Yeah, the one new in your neighbourhood, with the little cough. And then you affirm yourself in your belief that preying on homelands isn't safe nor healthy. You hate yourself for being right and you hate yourself for wanting more of the yesterday's cuisine.
- in conclusion you end up writing 'bout it here.

Comment : aughaughaaghh.

New Obesity Rates :

http://www.economist.com/node/17118939

Poland is below the half of it, but still 12% is high. And I'm afraid that there are more and more obese kids in my country, from age 8 to 15 in majority, so quite unfortunatelly the percentage probably will go up.

That is bad. And due to the fact that we have "tolerance" and "political correctness" you can't call anyone fatty. So kids will remain being fatties. And fatties are weight not only to themselves, but also to the health-care. Not to mention they're an eyesore.
And fat-by-genetics my ass.
My brother had that genetical fatso. B-shiet, his father - to his mother protests who is also, as she states, a genetical fatso - grabbed his son by the balls, took him with him to the gym & pool and now he's the most fit in the class. And how his mother reacted when her sonny came back sweating and tired, had muscle sores? She called it abuse! She told her husband to stop "tormenting" the boy! Mothers. They can be strict bi**es to their daughters, but to their sons they Mary Sue's for every pain they feel that should be healed. Father saw the problem, father gave medicine for it - discipline. Mind you, the kids ancestors, from his mother side, had some problems with weight but the reason why it was transferred to her and him it's because years and years of generations being a fatasses. That indeed can transmit in DNA code. But it can be fixed by constant, disciplined training and diet.

I don't have anything to chubby people, if they know how to mask it with clothes or makeup. But I don't want to see fatarsed guy eating a big-sized pizza on his own in public or a girl with her fat flowing out from a tight pants and shirt that doesn't cover her fat belly. It's disgusting, unaesthetic view. And I'm sick at seeing blogs and pictures, even nude pictures of fat girls saying that they've "embraced who they are". ~HOW~ in the world you can embrace that? I can't embrace that, I don't have my arms long enough to do that, then how can she do that? Why I can't see fat-man nudes posing without embarrasment shown on their faces over their bodies? My former colleague, a real whale, 160kg was embarrased because of it yet too lazy to make a change. And depression after depression. He doesn't want to embrace the sickness. It's idiotic to embrace a state wich is a grudge for your health and gives you nothing in return. And it's disgusting to showing that ebrace of your to the others. It's like saying "hey, being fat is good". It's like promoting smoking even though we know it may cause various effects on your health, cancer included. And we also know what having a big lumps on fat can do.

So then, if I smoke, I smoke in private or in places allowed for it. I don't go around with a cig near places where I know kids might be, and when I see one and I'm smoking, I hide the cigarette in my palm. I'm ashamed that I was seen with a cigarette by a kid. If he'll choose to smoke in future, that's fine with me but I don't wan't to even have the slightest connection to his choice.
And fatsoes embrace it. Chubby, emancipated fat girls with tight clothing unreveal their bellies. Back in a day nothing like that happened here, I can give you my word for it. Fat folk covered from neck to toes, tried at least to mask their illness. And now, that grotesque images, pieces of fat exposed... it's convulsive, but they know that no one can say bad word about them.

Well guess what - I will still cringe at your sight and you'll see it. For the same reason why I smile to pretty girls that care about their apperance.

But hey, some social and political parties want to outlaw even that. Because it's chauvinist.

What a world.

I agree with the rant, to a degree. Some people actually are fat because of medical or genetic conditions, and they can't do much about it other than try to take care of themselves and not get any bigger. A friend of mine has always been big, even since childhood. She's been active, she's always out doing things, she has been taking care of her diet very carefully since she was a kid, and still does. But she's still big. Only just three years ago did we find out why. She has a thyroid condition. She's 25 and it took her whole life for a doctor to actually listen to her and run a test. But since it took so many years to get the diagnosis, the condition is too far developed and there is NOTHING she can do about it anymore. She will be big for the rest of her life. She's going to be even more careful with that she east now and joined a gym.

HOWEVER, there are some people who don't have "genetics" or "health conditions" to blame. There are people who bitch about being fat but then eat a fucking bacon-burger with a root-bear float on the side and they never go jogging or even WALKING just for the sake of walking for that matter. Your ass doesn't get smaller by sitting on it folks. My fiance's younger brother is like that. In fact, the last time we went out to dinner those foods I just mentioned are exactly what he had. He goes bike riding once every two days maybe, but the rest of the time he's on his ass, playing video games, watching tv, or sitting in front of the computer, eating nothing but junk. He took a swimming class, but used fucking flippers in the pool, and couldn't understand why he wasn't losing any weight, and got pissed at us when we told him not to use the flippers.

Well, all I can say about obesity and girls, Pandora, they have it harder because of the cultural roles and views on genders.
I have a friend, heck, rather acquaintance than a friend, that - as far as I know - was always big and couldn't get below 120kg's since he was 17. But that's still good weight, I underline it - for him. He told me his normal weight was around 145kg's before he hit up the gym and with some food supplements for bodybuilders he turned it to the muscle mass or burned it, now (by now I mean summer of 2008 as that was last time that I saw him) he weights around 123-124kg's. And he looks like a monster that not many would like to mess with, added to that his 190 plus cm height. And, from my experience I can tell girls like big guys like him. But he has to constatly train and excercise.
That solution isn't working for girls I'm afraid, for obvious reasons. We have an old proverb in here, don't know it's origin though - "a man has to be a little more handsome than the devil, while the girl needs to be a little less beautiful than an angel". And seeing couples I can't remember a single one that had fat girl+slim/well-built guy pairing, yet I saw many slim girls+fat guys. Guess then envoke a feeling of safety among these girls. Most guys, even the ugly ones simply don't like being around fat girls, with the exeption if it's a friend or colleague.
But the worst thing I heard, yet so true at the same time, was one from my friend. She told me that if she and her friends go to a club and want to be sure they won't be bothered by men, they take their "friend". 100kg+ more girl, a unpleasant sight for the eyes, as I heard, but with a deep need to have some trendy, partying and good looking friends. A leech. Still, it's sad that that leech doesn't know or care about the fact that she's used, because, as my friend told me, they don't pay much attention otherwise. Damn rude.
I don't envy fat or bad-looking girls. They have it bad from both sexes.

Your future in-law needs to be forced to work on himself. Discipline isn't a topic of discussion. Goverments, social services should stay the f-away in educational methods that parents have. I don't have grief for my father because of the fights, physical fights I had with him during my h-school days. I was a truant, no talkie-talks could work on me, so solution was obvious. But I hope your future in-law wants to change, even a little.
Also, I don't know any fast food that has any of these in Poland. The most stuffing fast-food I know that I can buy is donner kebap.
