1) I wouldn't call them "friends" Very Happy

1)What would you call their relationship then?

1 - It's a business relationship, in theory. Sky seeks funding from Sinclaire Global...... Chloe messes around.

1) Would Sky's relationship be considered better or worse than Chole's scientist Maxine?

2)Who was your favorite character in Legend of Korra?

3)Will there be a Silk Elves 3?

4)What was the name of the girl from your Wolf's Peak Apsara?

5)Are you going to see the New Judge Dredd movie coming out later this year?

6)What were you thoughts on the 95 Judge Dredd movie with Sylvester Stalone?

Just a question about the Apsara pieces and your freelancing (?). Were you doing the Apsara stuff at the same time as Rare? Or did they not care about that stuff?

Wondering about the Think Tank...
They have a childish way to speak. I don't think it's for ignorance (combined they are more than a super computer, after all). So, is it a way to make them more cute (successfully), or is that, even if they are so intelligent, being secluded from the rest of the world, they remained like children (and that would also explain their enthusiast attitude towards anything)?

Sorry if I missed a similar question in this topic.

Mr. Jackson, what do you think of America's stereotypical view of Europe, that everyone there is thin, beautiful, intelligent and has some common sense(yes I'm distinguishing between the two). I've never been to any part of Europe to confirm this for myself

1 - It's yet to be written.

2 - Korra!

3 - yes.

4 - She's yet to be given one.

5 - yes.

6 - Would have been fine if it didn't have the irritating "comic relief" character.

Yes, I was. If they knew; they didn't care.
I don't think management did, though......they barely knew what was going on WITHIN the studio, let alone what people were up to on the side.

The Think Tank were locked away in a lab for who-knows-how-long, so they're a little.....off, even when they ARE functioning as a unit, which only really augments their focus, nothing more.

It's like any stereotype: it's wrong.
There are "thin, beautiful, intelligent" people all over the world, just as there are "fat, ugly, stupid" individuals in every country.

A couple questions for you, Phillip
1. Does it bother you that I called you Phillip?
2. Did you ever go to an art school to learn to draw the way you do?
3. Have you ever tried sculpture?
4. Some say a picture is worth a thousand words, and at 20 frames per second, what could be better than a video - why don't you uplpad to YouTube more?
5. Is selling your books such as the SA books and Little Victory your only source of income, or do you have a job on the side?
6. To a British person… what the hell does cheeky mean?!

Who is philip?
I want to start a web comic but my biggest fear is starting one and then not updating like a good person should. What helps you stay regular?
Where do you do your work?
Do you work from life, or from photographs or from imagination?
What moves you most in life, either to inspire or upset you?
Where do you feel art is going?
What is the role of the artist in society?
What is the palce of your work in society?
What technique do you use?
Which is more important to you, the subject of your painting, or the way it is executed?
Do you prefer a perfect smooth technique or a more energetic expressive technique and why?

Finally, and most importantly...
Why do you feel your artwork is so beautiful? I have my reasons for liking your work but why do you like it?

also...out of silly curiosity, why is there no word wrap on this thing?

The Tome is all sketches (in pencil and/or inked), so it's none of the strips.

Any plans about Sequential Art other than making few strips a week? Like publishing that old comic about Kat and a milkshake? Or something new?

"Yes" is enough.

Cheers.

I found a sketch somewhere on the Internet. I knew it was JJ's style!

How do you do coloured outlines? I've been trying and because of how I've been colouring, it doesn't look right.

Hey JJ
There is something that I found odd, it seems like Kat is missing her pupils most of the time. Is there any outlining reason for that, or am I just missing something?

Does catnip affect Kat in anyway?

And is there any chance that Kat's dad will make an appearance in the comic in the foreseeable future? And does he have a name? Judging by the sketch of him you did, his chosen profession might quite possible be photography, though I could be wrong.

It could be that's just his way of showing that Kat's eyes are similar to those of a real cat's. In daylight or similar, a cat's eyes are little more than slits. In dim light and darkness (as well as instances of strong emotions like fear or shock), a cat's eyes dilate or widen into a more circular pupil like that of a human's. In Jolly Jack's style, Kat's slit eyes would be practically invisible and not worth drawing most of the time.

Arguably, he should draw them as visible all the time in arcs like "Zombies and Eldritch Abominations" (specifically from 0617 to 0651) when Kat's running around in dark tunnels, instead of some of the time. That's excusable, however, since that's just how Jolly Jack is used to drawing her (and it's not like he's going for strict scientific accuracy with Kat's eyeballs). In-universe, it could simply be handwaved that Kat's eyeshine (another trait cats and other species have) tends to be brighter and more likely to hide her pupils in dim light than, say, Vanity's.

Of course, Jolly Jack no doubt has a simpler and more elegant reason than what I've burbled, but I'm just a loud-mouthed schnook who only thinks he knows something. tongue

I think he doesn't draw the slit eyes because He wants Kat to have a happy playful look. Adding slit eyes would make her look more predator like and vicious.

That makes sense, though it could be author appeal as well.

not_cenaris wrote:

Spoiler:

Hahaha. I'd imagined catnip would had more of a depressant effect on Kat, not a hallucinogen one. But still that is hilarious, I hope that experience didn't swear her off of the mint.
Hmmmm... That must be from one of JJ's sketchbooks. I need to get me one of those, that if I can save up enough extra money too.

Hello, Mr.Jackson. You forgot to update your comic this week.

Also, a few related questions:

1. How do you determine that there is a need for an update? Because for now it looks like "once, twice a week at best" but not set days or dates.

2. Do you get profit from SA besides selling books (which are being released less than frequently)?

3. What actually motivates you doing this webcomic? What is your attitude towards it?

4. How's Vicky doing? Issue 4 when?

5. Any approximate date for Battle Bunnies project release?

6. I want to make you a little bit happier(more productive*) and I am not japanese - will you sell something new that I will actually be able to hold in hands? Or even digital (besides Apsara)?

7. Any other ways to make you happier(more productive*)?

8. Dot Zombie 2.5 dissapeared from lulu - could you upload it somewhere, please?

Cheers.
