If there's a demand, there'll be a supply - rules of the market. Very Happy

But seriously I can't give an anwser to your question.
I have a tendancy to leave many things not releated to my work half-assed quite often or just scratched out. Add to that a low attention span when it comes to developing some kind of plot and general laziness and here you go.
So I don't know how it will be with this one, although I hope it'll be somehow.

Ok., I fixed the lack of color on the top shirt of the fox and the lack of checkerboard on the skunkette's scarf.

I had to think what'll come within the next strips (I've scrapped the 4'th one that I've done already as it wasn't good enough for my taste), so I only came up with this quickie :

Colours are just unattractive and depressing. Need something not so heavy and dark.

I have a proposition for all the folks here that took-a-look at my, about the Fox & Skunk(ette) strips and somehow liked it.

You see, I don't like to spend time coming up with character names or looking them up on the net, and I think that at some point I'll have to give my "heroes" some.

So I'd like to hear out your ideas for the names. I don't care if you'll post real, existing, or non-existing ones. Post what you think is fitting for these characters. First names mostly, but if you have some ideas on surnames, that's fine too.

As for now we have :

Fox - I've already nicknamed him Snap for the purposes soon (I hope) to be revieled. About 13-14 years old, about in 2nd grade of middle-school.
Skunkette - no nickname or name. She's a foreginer, 19 years old, 1st year of studying. Don't know what though.
Mother - no name or nickname. She's a fox, quite obviously, a single mother of the bratty fox. Unknown age, but I'd say in her middle to late 30's although that may change. Occupation will be revieled in the future.

Think of as many fitting names as you can. The author of the name that I'd like the most will be somehow mentioned in one of the strips.

And do not post 'em here. Send me a P.M.

Hey, Piet, I'm lovin' these. I just might think of some names.

Anywho, sorry if it was already asked, but about how long does it take you on average to fully finish a comic page?

Page? Or Strip?

For strip like the one above - usually about two to three hours total, but it often differs.

I don't do full pages, but once I didthis one as a practice and it took me about 12 hours of work. Very Happy

I really do hope that's just because it was a practice piece. And because I have strawy enthusiasm. Very Happy

So there's no real average, it all depends on details, complexity of the page and most importantly - on the mood (or, in case of people living off it - a deadline).

Fifth one :

Drawings of Pietja The Unskilled - Page 4 Extremeattentions

Meme & tribute included.

Also, still looking for names. I have these ones for the skunkette :

Leila (arabic) - dark/night beauty. I quite like it, not only because of Eric Clapton's song, but because of having dark/night meaning, fitting the character.
Can't make a nickname out of it though.

Abigail (hebrew) - father of exaltation, good in discretion and beautiful in form, handmaid. Has a nice ring to it, although I associate it with a rather older women. In their 60's. Very Happy
Although nickname Abbie or something in that design is a fitting one for a younger one. And it's a pretty common name nowdays.

Lana (celtic, gaelic) - attractive, peaceful. I like it 'cause of its simple and pleasant vibe. Although I've made a mistake once and watched few episodes of Smallville and now it reminds me of Kristen Kreuk, wich I don't find attractive at all.

Mabel (english) - my beautiful one. Mixed feelings on that one.

Robin (english) - unisex name, used to nickname Robert - robert meaning bright fame, while for girls with having a red-breasted (no odd thoughts) songbird in mind. I like it because it's a beautiful unisex name wich may hold a promise of tomboyish behaviours, and it's kind of cute so to speak.
But thanks to How I Met Your Mother I tend to associate it with that ugly canadian girl.

I'm also positive on Leila. Or Leila. Or english written Leyla Layla. Wink But it think Leila will be the best.

There's still a fox and his mother, and as for now I've got only one person sent me proposition about the mother. Propositions for mum are :

Rin (japanese) - dignified, severe, cold. Not to kind meaning for a mother, you must admit that. Very Happy
And as much as I love japanese and their names, I feel like they just won't fit.

Joanne (english) - a variant of Joan, wich original medieval form Johanne came from greek masculine Iohannes, that is a form of original hebrew name - Yochanan. Modern day equivalent is John and it means YAHWEH is gracious.
I won't give that name, because one of my first girlfriends name was Joanna, wich is polish equivalent of Joanne. One of the most hypocritical human beings I've knew.
But if I'll develop a rather bad female character, I might return to that one.

Also, few more names for the skunkette that was sent :

Lynda/Linda (germanic) - soft, tender. I'll tell you why nobody in Poland would call her daughter like that, although this name - Linda - is a proper and very rarely seen name. One of our most well-known actors, iconic badass of our 90's cinema is called Bogusław (Boguslav) Linda. So when some polish citizen hears Linda, -pop!-

This one is brought into their minds. Bogusław Linda is the one that smokes.

Translation :

"you're here before commision, not to give me advices"
"times are changing, but you're still in various commisions"
"are you prepared to protect the law and order of the renewed Commonwealth of Poland?"
"Peremptorily, untill the very end... mine or hers."

So no, Linda is off. Very Happy

Amaryllis (english) - comes from greek amarysso wich means to sparkle(twilight much? Very Happy) although the sender wrote that it also means fresh flower wich could be an undercover running joke for the fart genre. The name is interesting, and shortened to Lisa seems quite fitting, although in that case the full one would probably never be used.

Don't! Don't name you character Mabel! It's a common name for a house maid here.

I agree Leila is a good name. Maybe you should call the fox kid Pietja xD
