it doesn't help the last generation to become adults was Generation X, the rebellious irresponsible group.

One thing to look at is kids raised by people who were kids during the 90's (generation whY) are more into the community, environment, and overall higher society. So when they become adults, their kids reflect that. Which is also evident at the same middle school. 1-5 grades are kids who do their homework, score better at tests, and overall work together better. They dress in normal t-shirts and jeans.

The kids in 6-8 (generation X's kids)have ALWAYS dressed like they were adults, rebellious, never did their work, thinks it awesome to disrespect the teachers, and I know some who started smoking at the age of 9. That is of this year. Next year they go to high school and I get to screw with their emails and files if they show any disrespect. I love being the tech guy.

So the only way to solve this dilemma is time. Most of the kids who are horrible now, will become horrid adults and raise horrid kids. So the cycle continues. We will have times of good and bad in waves.

Add to that, that the polish generation X had to face changes from commie system to capitalism, and you have our modern, young and confused parents.

I need to brush up on some history and culture of other countries. I feel so ignorant when I mention one thing as it is here and it is completely different somewhere else.

Well, we learn US history in high-school, to some extent. The major points like constitution(constitution of 3rd may, Polish one, was the second document like that in the world and 1st in Europe), first few presidents, slavery, economic crash, the US operations during WW2, segregation, ect., things that changed social and political views mostly. And some bits of behaviorism, as an example of the virtually the only one US philosophy of psychology. Nevertheless, a good one that worked like a charm for emigration society that US is built on.

But that's because US was and still is a significant country in world history, practicly a major one in 20th century. Also, besides social and economical knowledge there is a cultural knowledge, provided by H-wood and music movements. Jazz was loved in pre-WW2 Poland and many US black musicians were well known in our smokey pubs. Not so much after WWII eneded, commies came and were promoting system-friendly stuff. And rock'n'roll, maybe not as much as in USSR, was, obviously, and subversive element of dirty, lying, capitalistic pigs and jews. Teenagers in 60's, 70's and to some extent in 90's were beaten for long hair by militia and were taken to police stations where their hair was cut - yep, by a very "qualified" policeman. Jeans were banned and frowned upon(and very rare and expensive) for a long time, till about early 80's. Having one on your butt could cost you a beating from always loving militia.

These were interesting times, as many old folks, including my father use to tell, but the strangest fact is that teens felt more free in that system than kids nowdays. They had an enemy to be rebelious about, they were living their lives to the fullest even though the economy was in shambles. They were more sociable than people are today, more trusting.

But, anyway, no need to feel ignorant about it. Being a citizen of a goddamned superpower has to entitle you to something, right?

Overloaded Public Transport while people sit on little stairs in the busses while they need to move more to the back of the vehicle. The people that will sit are Muslim. I now start to understand why everyone here hates them. But I have some other Muslim friends so my oppinion will be based on those friends.

I hate muslims sitting on the stairs of the busses!

Nuke the bastards!

But there are two problems :

There are very few muslims in Poland, thus I don't know how often they commit that awful crime of sitting on a busses stairs
and
we don't have any nukes.

I know one half-syrian, but his islam is like mine catholicism - it's only written in metric.

Where are you finding such fucked up kids? I always thought they're only existed in scary stories from the internet.

Actually, this shit is happening more often lately. It's scary.

I've been seeing and hearing about a lot of news reports and studies on girls who do this. But what I'm thinking is, it's not just girls. There are boys who are accepting and reciprocating this behavior. Girls wouldn't be doing it if there was no one taking it.

I would have to admit, the first thought that we through my head was "Man what are the 18 year-olds like?"

Quite frankly, any 14 year old guy who isn't gay or super-religious and had the money would totally take her up on that offer.

You bit it from the wrong side.
Mall girls, at least in my country won't make that kind of proposition to a guy looking underage. It's also a matter of prestige for them to blow an older, wealthy(at least for them) guy, it's not just a case of cash. Besides, having a paid sex with adult is a crime, so it's also some kind of isurance. If a boy, underage boy, would aproach a mall girl, even if he had money, he'd be sent of with nothing.

But, on the other hand there are also sponsored girls, who like to go on summer holidays with groups of older guys that have cash to pay for their needs. In exchange, guys get the obvious. And the guys are no older than 35 y.o. in most cases.

And I had to work on goddamned construction sites as a teenager to have money for summer holiday. And for the last month of it mostly.

Damn double-standards.

I'd rather my kid be working on a site or at a retail shop. Underage girls basically prostituting themselves out is not a good thing. I don't think much of the men who take them up on this either.

The fukken post-potato society that is polish society. As soon as it started to snow, my fellow countrymen got their asses into warm behemot-like cars and clogged the traffic. Why? Because it's too cold.
I hate that. Get a goddamned small car, you don't even drive in groups, you lazy assholes! And busses are almost empty! Who in the right mind goes for a pack of ciggarettes by driving to a store that is 200 metres away? You wanna know who? Polish folk.

Goddamned capitalism and consumerism struck us too late, so now we have it - post-agricultural society in big-ass jumbo-fukken-jet like cars with nothing inside, driving solo. No wonder there are no free parking places anymore, those fukks park on pavements. No wonder that everyday is the same old song - huge traffic jams everywhere in Warsaw. When tempereature is above 3-5 celcius degrees I commute by bike and if not, I still prefer the bus - because it's in fact cheaper than spending money on gas. But my clever society, despite getting richer, still have that peasant mentality. Bragging with cars, fort-like homes and guarded housing estates, even though it's not needed. It shows their "status". For me, it shows that they're still mentally in the plow and mule age.

Because of that fukks I got late for lectures, MANDATORY lectures for the third time. And the goddamned, oh-so-smart professor gave the obvious response - "you were in traffic jam for 1,5 hour? Then you should wake up 1,5 hour earlier.". Sure, that'd mean I should wake up at 4.30 in the morning, right?

Goddamned cocks don't wake up that early.
Alright, some do.

Very Happy

Nevetheless, pissed and fukked because my fate at the uni is unknown because of that event.

Well your not alone. I got a bike for that exact reason, I was sick of driving for a hour to get somewhere I can pedal to in 10 minutes. but that's when I'm in Hutch for college.

My town is too small and too far away from anything that most traffic is 3 cars at one time in the whole town.

MEANWHILE, IN A CHANGE OF TOPIC:
I live but 30 yards (I'm guessing 28m, we have the standard system) from a gas station, and my mother still drives up there to get cigarettes. Then I reminded her that gas wasn't 1.19 anymore.

"Well if I walk I'm out of breath and I can't enjoy my cigarette."

Not wanting to stop smoking is not an excuse for ignorance and laziness.

^^I agree. She probably wouldn't be so out of breath from walking if she weren't smoking.

I also agree with Pietja's vent about GIANT-ASS VEHICLES with ONE person in them. There's a shitton of people like that out here. Driving unecessarily HUGE trucks or SUV's short distances, or owning huge things like that for simple street-driving. What's even MORE of a pisser is when these dicks use the carpool lane. Horrendous gas-guzzlers, clogging up the carpool lane, with ONE person in them.

No one fucking needs an SUV to drive to Wal-Mart. No one needs a fucking Hemi V8 4x4 to drive your kid to school five blocks away. No one needs either type of these vehicles if they aren't going to use them for their intended purposes, street driving NOT being one of them.

I agree on the vehicles, I drive a van. But my van also carries 6 computers and 3 built-in drawers for computers parts and tools so I can drive to my work instead of bringing it home. (I do in-home computer repairs)

when I do not need all those parts, I got my motorcycle. which saves me a lot since it gets 90 to the gallon and only holds 2.

Well, another "WHAT GRINDS MY GEARS" is: Lack of Work

Though I am working with computers, I have yet to land an actual job. For 3 years, I have been turned down so they can hire the kid with piercings that ends up not showing half the time. While I have boy scouts and working for my school as a dishwasher, cook, server maintainence, janitor and working at a gas station plus being a cashier. and have never once called in sick except when my sister died.

No one wants to freaking hire me, ever. Plus who can you find nowadays that wants night shift and can ALWAYS be on call. My gas station loved it, especially when new workers quit without notice, leaving the store unattended. and the manager is 3 hours away. at 6 in the morning and have just ended your shift not but 2 hours ago.

I NEED A JOB!

Nothing like filling out 20 applications a week and getting turned down. I even been rejected by McDonalds!

Rejected as in they gave you an interview and didn't hire or just didn't call you? If they didn't call you that could mean a number of things. Not necessarily bad though.

Well it doesn't help how every single place is labeled 'hiring now', though they aren't looking for anyone just so they can pool applications. That should be illegal. The Taco Bell, Arby's, and Sonic started that, and since it spread, even to the manufacturing companies.

I would apply, they would call saying they got my application and would like to speak, they set a date for like 3 days from then, and they tell me the position was filled over a month ago, YET HEY STILL HAVE THE 'HIRING NOW, ALL POSITIONS' SIGN IN PLACE!

If you not hiring, it should be illegal to say you are just to pool applications for when someone leaves 2 years down the road.

It keeps the hired workers... "motivated".

My gear grinder - more goddamned snow. Because of that white stuff and the incopetence of our road cleaning services I have to get up at 5.30 in the morning and leave at 6.00 to get to work or to the uni.
It would be perfectly understandable if I was living 40-60km away from my destination point, but 8-10km away?!

That happened to me once. Macy's had "Now Hiring" signs all over their store, so I applied. I got an interview, one of those group interviews, and about 20 of us showed up. They herded us all into the office, and the first thing they said was, "We're not actually hiring."

So why the fuck do you have signs all over your store saying you are? And if you're just pooling applications, then why are we sitting here at this ridiculous interview?

From Sankaku Complex, original, in google translation is here.

"Police have issued a warning to the public after a man smiled at a schoolgirl.

Osaka police posted the following advisory of a suspicious person:

There was a case on 08:15, December 9th, where a little girl in Takatsuki City was walking to school when she walked past a man she did not know, who smiled slightly at her.

He is thought to be in thirties, and was wearing a black fleece, grey trousers, white laced sneakers and was carrying a blackish bag.

Be sure to carry your anti-crime buzzer!

A similar advisory was recently issued by Osaka police after a man suggested to a group of children playing in the street late one afternoon that they move on – as the area was full of dodgy love hotels."

I smiled at how orwellian that news is, despite I shouldn't - anything that can be described as orwellian isn't a laughing matter.

I'd say - oh, Japan, but it's not an isolated case, I'm afraid.

@Pietja. The thing I love about SA, every second woman is a farm girl and thus has driven since the age of 8 [And their road rage knows no bounds].
Best time ever standing on the back of my friends bakkie (known as pickuptruck or whatever in american or Technical in Somalia) while she drives lik a pro and I get to scream random stuff at the street cats 11pm.

Also, I'm back here again, possibly sporadic, so hope that grinds everybody's gears.

I'm really pissed about reading this, not because it's about banning a particular sector of the internet but because it's yet another step torwards regulating the internet. Just no.
http://www.news.com.au/breaking-news/world/all-internet-porn-will-be-blocked-to-protect-children-under-uk-government-plan/story-e6frfkui-1225973481287
People will have to "opt in" to see porn? What? That doesn't make sense.
This ban isn't to "protect children" it's because the government's too lazy to crack down on child porn. SO what, ban porn outright? See where that goes.

You know what's to blame? Child pornographers and bad parenting. If most parents took care of their kids, they wouldn't be going on porn. Again, it's a minority that ruins it for everyone.

For once I want anonymous to do something vile against the government if puts this law into action as a way to making them remove it.

I like my porn. I like going on popular porn streaming sites on occasion to see some. I won't deny I like doing that. So why should I have that right taken away from me, and be branded a pervert by the government because I have to declare to them that I want to watch the stuff?
