As far as I know and remember, Ja means Yes in german, danish and norwegian. Afrikaans borrowed some from norwegian language, at least I think it did, by the sound and look of it. That rapper you had as your avatar sounded a little norwegian, so I thought something must be in common.

Name of the strip... no I don't have for now, nor I have no idea for it. As I wrote before, I'm bad at giving names or - in that case - titles.

As for now I have only a name for the father - Jay. Dimmunitive from Jayden. An unisex name that popped out of nowhere. I know only Jaden James - a female porn star and Jaden Korr - a fictional Jedi Knight 3 : Jedi Academy hero or heroine.

Afrikaans is actually a 17th century Dutch dialect that evolved on it's own. at the beginning of the 20th century it was pretty much Dutch but then we felt nationalistic and decided we want a awesome new language that isn't Dutch and that rings with Africa. Hence, Afrikaans was born xD

In my opinion you should give it a nice Polish name, something you can also understand in English but that is inherently Polish, or am I the only person here that enjoy's non English names?

Polish language strenght is word formation. As most of the languages, it borrowed from english, french, but unlike the others, due to possibilities of word formation in Polish, many of those are twisted beyond recognition. But some still sound the same.

F.ex.

Parasol means umbrella in french, so it does in Polish, but the most common usage is femminine Parasolka, because of the association of this item with women.
Match in english is Meczin Polish. Most europeans have hard times pronouncing our "cz" letter. It's not c&z it's a one sound. Very Happy So as our other letters like (I'm not sure you'll be able to see) like ą, ę, ó, ł, z, ż, ź. Very Happy

Finding a polish name that would also mean something in english is a very hard task.

I've just finished lineart for strip no.11 and that'll be all for today.
Meanwhile I'd like to ask you what do you think about naming the comic "Foreign Relations"? Because, y'know - student from overseas meets weird (to her taste) people like the fox, his mom & dad and, in the future strips, her fellow university colleagues. And foreign relations is also an academic faculty, so it's annother refference.
Don't know what she'll study though.

And I remind you that the names of the fox, mom & skunkette still aren't decided, so if you have some ideas, hit me up on P.M.

I must agree, the title is suiting, but for me it isn't exotic enough. The title I wanted to recommend: Culture Shock is a bit to cliché a title.


Have you worked out a banner for the title, that would maybe help in seeing if it fits or not.
