Nikolai wrote:I needs to get myself a Tablet...how much do they cost? (What do they look like?)

Well, let's see, you'll definitely want to get one that's not a big dent in your wallet. Personally, I use a Wacom Bamboo Fun. I find it fantastic. The Bamboo's are pretty much the most basic models by Wacom, so I'd recommend you start there. They have other models on the site though. By all means, if you've got the $9XX.XX, go for the Cintiq 12WX.

My Bamboo Fun cost around $90 if I remember correctly, but I have the older model. I think the price is about $199 now, unfortunately. Probably worth it though.

They kinda look like a flat plastic rectangle. You almost wanna play frisbee with it (Not recommended). So yeah, find one that suits you.

Also, thanks Piet :D!

http://www.wacom.com/cintiq/cintiq-12wx.php - $999
http://www.wacom.com/cintiq/cintiq-21ux.php $1999
http://www.wacom.com/bamboo/bamboo_craft.php - $129
http://www.wacom.com/intuos/large.php - $469

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpliOolOmc0 - I have this one, the movie is in polish. The review is harsh and I agree with it. The pen is uncomfortable, the mouse is useless, the pen sometimes looses the lines... only the size (comared to price - $148) was a big plus. For begginers, and for fun. For amateurs that are interestet in seriously getting into art world & intudsty - keep away from it.

So if you want to have fun and your pics digitalized, I'd reccoment bamboo or something to max $200 if you'll find anything like that. Serious buisness starts above $500. And most of professional artist, at least those I know in Poland, sweated up to buy the most expensive, the $1999 Cintiq 21WX.

Oi, Nikolai, Frist; Is there a schedule you guys follow when practising/practised to draw?
I'm kind of the lazy man, can't get anything done unless I have a set of rules I made myself or a goal.
Sadly I have a goal but it's not motivation enough Wink So was wondering if you guys have any tips for getting better ie what to practice and how much?

Edit: Also, Nikolai, stop crying. It's not going to make a wacom tablet appear any sooner so cheer up and draw a ferret.

Stop crying...I said stop...seriously...stop or you're gonna make me c-c-c-c-Ccrrrrrrrryyyyyyy!!!!(hyper-ventilates, passes out).

Don't cry or I'll have to call whine one one and order an whaaambulace.

I'll say get a least a bamboo if you want to get to feel the real deal. 129$ is not that much and I think you can spend it to at least get the hang of it.
Don't ask me how to get money though. I worked since I was 14 on holidays and not as some kind of paperboy or flyer tosser. You've ever worked on a field of strawberries? 12 hours kneeled down with 60% of adult person's pay? I tell ya - it's a fukken blast <sacrasm>.
So either torment your old folks or find a job. Or sell some of your stuff - like games or such.

Phew, sorry I'm late to the response. You wouldn't believe the day I had.

Anyway, I pretty much draw whenever I'm in the mood and have free time. Long as those two requirements are met, I can get work done. I guess I've just grown a desire for it, and no longer have to force myself to draw.

The only tip I can give you is that experience increases your drive. So the more you do, the more you'll want to do it. That's how it works for me anyway. Keep practicing!

Amateur mistake! You never think to much about you work! I did that once, took me a week to draw again.

Anyway, back to reality. Thanks Frist, will see how randomly drawing stuff that I kuje works for me Wink and Nikolai don't stress, things always get worse before they get better... I mean, things will get better Razz

Hey, Smelge, care to critique at all? On anything? It'd be a big help.

Be as harsh as you need to, you don't have to pull punches.

Dude, nice. Looks very good. Maybe you should put as part of your tips: draw bigger, think that's why most of my stuff doesn't look half as good Wink
