Guys, I think I might have figured something out. This is not a Hillary arc or anything...its a pip arc! Everyone else has had their own character centered arcs and this one is all about fleshing out pip. I.E. his glasses, after he scored with Hillary he stopped wearing them. I think this is supposed to mean that he is now more open and secure. Sort of like Linus getting rid of his security blanket. The strip 793 supports this in my opinion, as does my theory that once pip does discover the truth his newly found confidence will shatter and be even lower than before thus he will don the glasses again. Mabey this will even cause Hillary to feel a bit of guilt (i doubt it) or prompt kat to take action once and for all.

The important thing to remember is that while pip is no white knight, he is a lonely bird who wants some company.

As do I.
I know some have expressed sympathy for Pip in all this, but it's never really hit me personally just how badly this could affect him until #793.

Pip does show more emotion in this arc than in previous ones, and the loss of his glasses is a great way for JJ to be able to show us that emotion, since he now has a greater range of facial expressions.

Personally, I hope, whatever the results of this arc, that Pip no longer needs his glasses. His glasses essentially made him the Faceless, the expressionless guy who rarely shows emotion (head feather notwithstanding). Without the glasses, Jolly Jack can make Pip more expressive, show off his penguin personality more. Besides, after Hilary's through with Pip, it wouldn't hurt to throw him a bone since he was so darn ecstatic about his improved vision.

Hrm... We have only his word for it that he can actually see without them at the moment.

Which would put a whole new spin on things in the current ("You dropped your...") comic.
