Sure, a little nod towards the game and gamers that play it, but whole arc?
It could be about my favourite game series, but I'd still find it tiresome...
Sequential Art is, IMO, not about dwelling in the game-focused topics, it's not a g-dammned Penny Arcade.

Well, technically, the Quinten arc was also all about game parody.

Anyway, it seems tham mr Jackson finally got tired of SA cast. New web-comic, delays, absolutely few SA-related pics on DA over last year and no cake. Only new awesome character and 2nd Quinten arc in April can save this comic.

Sadly.

Not quite sure what irks me more; your suggestion that I'm not committed to the strip or your belief that I have to do what you tell me to in order to "save" it

Delays are down to me needing to do bill paying work (a free webcomic doesn't do that) and a variety of real-life matters....like root canal.
The proposed new comic is me trying to make use of good scripts I've written, but not had time to turn into hardcopy books, and so plan on chipping away at them week by week.
So sorry if you disapprove of either of those motives, but if they really ruin your day; you don't have to be here.

Bah, SA is still going strong and isn't needing to be saved. Nothing wrong with the Minecraft story line and I am finding it funny so far. This is Pip and what Pip is into, just like the (and forgive me for forgetting the name used) Dungeons and Dragons story arc. I am actually hoping that Scarlet and the other girls get into the game to see what they can do.

People do have to pay bills from time to time and that takes away from free time to do other things. JJ is one of those that need to do this and not a Teen living at home with his Mom and Dad, (your not right?) It is actually pretty good that he has time to get done what he gets done.

Lets just compare briefly:

Based on this wiki article, the Orange Box that contained "Portal" has by 2008 sold around 3 million copies and harvested rave reviews. That's a pretty good benchmark for "success" if you ask me.

From it's Alpha stages, Minecraft - a game not backed by a development studio, with no publisher and with no additional commercial than by word-of-mouth (initially) - has sold 1,6 million copies up until now. From a numbers perspective, The Orange Box wins: But if you compare the circumstances, the success of "Minecraft" is nothing short of astounding.

Penny Arcade has treated it, Zero Punctuation has been all over it favourably, and generally speaking Minecraft is the buzz-word of todays gaming community. And he's not alone in this response.

And, incidentally, the web-comic creator here likes it: I'd say there's a big enough demographic to risk a few jokes about it, so I can't really see the concerns.

'sides, if a game addicts you, it must be good: I doubt people generally get addicted to piss-poor games. Don't proclaim his comic "dead" because he just so happens to pick on a community you're not part of (especially when the Minecraft community is pretty damn big), but rather whether his art/writing style still remains sharp.

Just my two-cents.

You know, I really like the sound of Minecraft. But getting my stuff blown to pieces by those creepers would annoy me too much.

Anyway, I like JJ's stories. He's a gamer, amongst other things, so if you don't like it that he occasionally does a VG based story arcs. There's nothing to stop you from staying away from here.
