Let's see....
=Best Movie(s)=:
I'm not the best movie critic, but..
Toy Story 3, Inception, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and The Losers
Hey, I'm a big softie, some stories can cut me deep, but Toy Story 3 has got to be the first movie that's ever made me shed tears in a movie theater. GG, Pixar.
Inception was just mind-blowingly awesome. Definitely one of my favorite films of all time.
I first found out about Scott Pilgrim when I saw the trailer when I went to go see Kickass. Ever since, I've read all the books, even followed Bryan Lee O'Malley on DA, and the series just resonates with me. Great concept, awesome movie, blah.
The Losers was hands down, an awesome action film that just rocked for me. Great characters, good story, probably now one of my favorites.
=Best Game(s)= :
I've been a gamer since Age 2. I don't get around as much as I should, but when I do, I know my sh*t.
New Vegas, Heavy Rain, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, .. and Halo: Reach.
Loved Fallout 3, New Vegas is a great lateral shift while still being a change of pace. What can I say? Great game.
I can say, without a doubt, Heavy Rain is EASILY the BEST SEASON OF LAW AND ORDER I've ever watched. No seriously, despite it hardly being a game, really, I loved it. They need to make another game like it.
I freaking loved NMH. Had to get the sequel. In my honest opinion, both games are dead equal. I can't really say which is better because they both have their pros and cons, but the game, story, characters and everything will always be a #1 for me.
I'm just gonna go ahead and say it, Halo: Reach is probably my favorite of the 5 major games. Such polish. Had a much more somber feel to it than the rest of the games which really made it for me. I'm no fanboy of it, but dammit, they did a good job on this one.
=Best Book(s)=:
Not gonna lie, I don't read that many books.
Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour
Same reasons I chose the movie. Great Humor, series, etc.
=Best Anime(s)=
No matter what happens, I'll always be an Anime Otaku at heart :3.
KissXSis: I will also always be a total pervert. I will now shamelessly state that I believe that KissXSis is the sexiest, most tantalizing, pants-exploding Ecchi I have ever seen. Just so much greatness behind it. I WANT KEITA'S LIFE!
Funny enough, my former favorite ecchi was Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-chan!!. It didn't take me long to realize that KissXSis was done by the same guy, Bow Ditama. So, I guess it goes to show that the only person who could top Bow Ditama was Bow Ditama himself, as far as I care anyway. Essentially, Softcore Porn at its best.
B Gata H Kei: Great concept, great characters. Albeit it was a bit over the top with its censorship, still very good. The only thing I didn't like, aside, was the ending, but hey, they may make a 2nd season, so let's get our hopes up.
Black Rock Shooter: I've gotta say, this was an amazing anime movie. Took me a while to understand it completely, nevertheless, pretty awesome for an anime more or less about a Yuri love triangle. Also Off-Beat Gothic Lolita Fighting.
K-On! + K-On!!: I kinda got suckered into watching this anime, and today, I'm glad I did. IT'S SOOO CUTE! Sure, everyone says that, but it's just one of those ones that stands out as its own. Also, everyone loves Mio. Yui is quirky, Ritsu's obnoxious in the good way, Mugi is adorably naive and a bit ditzy, and Asu-nyan is just plain fun to see teased. Also, Sawako is <3.
Also, High School Of The Dead gets an honerable mention, it's just that I haven't finished it yet.
=Best Webcomic(s)=
Since most webcomics go on forever, and it's hard to compare new ones to old ones because of the start time difference, and how much you can fit in a year, (that and because I have a hard tme finding good new ones), I just picked the ones that I felt had the best content and kept me the most entertained in 2010.
Concession: As a straight male, it may seem odd for me to chose this one as one of my 2010 best, but hell..
Immelmann is the pinnacle of dedication to a webcomic, which is one of the reasons he inspires me so much. That and his shamelessness. I must admit, I just found out about Concession this past year, and it's unexpectedly become an instant favorite of mine. The story's great, the characters are timeless, and Immy's humor is alot like mine, so 30% of the time, I appreciate the joke more than alot of people I know.
The comic's also ending in 4 strips, so ;_; it was a good run. It's okay though, he's starting another one after. He also has another side comic which totals up to, more or less, 4 updates a week total for Immy, so I must applaud him.
Original Life: Again, I just found out about Better Days and Original life recently, and it still managed to hit the Best slot for me. Read through Better Days till the end. Laughed, Cried, Died a Little Inside, wash rinse repeat. That was great and all, wish I could chose it, but it ended in 2009, so I won't count it.
What better choice than it's sequel? Original life has a welcome home in my favorites. I like that it has a different feel than Better Days while still retaining some of the same humor aspect. Jay Naylor's become another one of my top inspirations to keep me at it. And it updates twice a week. Well done, guy.
=Best Meme(s)=
Being an internet person, I can't deny that I have a proud appreciation for memes. Let's get it over with.
Dun Goof'd: Angry Tooth missing redneck spouting about the internet hate machine? Funny as f*ck to me. Classic quotes.
Double Rainbow: What can I say, it has its own glory. Showed up in an Adventure Time Parody, a Best Buy Christmas Ad, funny times.
Forever Alone: It's funny because it's relateable and the crudely drawn head tops it all off.
=So Yeah....(s)=
2010 was pretty solid. The Decade itself could have been better, but, whatcha gonna do?. Alright, 2011. COME AT ME, BRO >:D!
