I remember back in school when we got that update. Took a while to figure out where the heck anything was.

... And for those who were wondering, the title is a line from "She Blinded me with Science".

Yup, that's what I'm having to do right now. Folks are asking for it due to either they can't receive calendar requests sent from newer outlook clients, or incompatible word/excel files.

They just don't have a single idea of the evolution that is about to hit them between the eyes. Even AFTER showing them/warning them that it is very different. They just give a feeble bobblehead in turn and a "yeah, yeah, just put it in".

Feh.

One hour 45 minutes later, (one hour installing it, 45 minutes spent explaining to them that I told them so.) I'm about to rip the hair out of my head.

I stand corrected. That's why Microsoft should die. Very Happy

Windows 7, further into the s*** than a turd. Which is on fire.

I tried my friends Windows 7 for 12 seconds and decided a that it would probably be less painful to put my head in a ceiling fan. Even Vista looks like a jewel to that!

Geez, what is everyone's problem with Word 2007 and 7? They've got different layouts to older versions. So what? I bet everyone who swore by Windows 3.1 had their minds blown when Windows 95 came out. "Start Bar? How the hell does that work?" and all that.

Word 2007 has a new layout, and to be honest I've found it easier to find some tools on it because they are slapped there in your face on the screen, where old Words would require you to go into drop down lists to get to them.

People, stop complaining over something and look a little closer. At least it doesn't crash.

If anything I'm getting REAL PISSED OFF at Firefox. All it does it STOPS RESPONDING when I'm on Deviantart. It's all it ever does. And everything else works fine on my computer. What does that tell you?

You... don't have Windows 7, do you...?

I do, and the only thing that's ever crashed is Firefox. It's better built than Vista, which again, didn't plight me for the mostpoint.

Well, I do have Windows 7 and use it regularly, and the only time it crashed was when I was writing an AutoHotkey script to handle my IR remote when I registered with Windows to hand me MIDI messages and forgot to unregister my message handler when quitting; after that hit a few keys on the remote and BOOM.

Not that I really blame Windows (7 or otherwise) for that, of course... having MIDI drivers write to random, unallocated memory space better stop the system before something really bad happens.

(Oh, and of course having ATI Tray Tools running while updating my graphics drivers is asking for trouble - hardware monitoring and pulling the graphics driver out at the same time isn't really a good idea...)

Heh... maybe it's just me then...

I hate my crappy computer.
