Absolutely heartbreaking. Lil' Kat was just minding her own business, nomming that sandwich, when Lil' Meanie Hilary popped out of nowhere and ruined her day

BTW, did they know each other before this, or was this how they met? Because that is a terrible first impression

To this point, we still don't know that. We must judge from future dialogues.

And of such childhood trifles are life-long grudges and feuds born! Ironically, both Kat and Hilary are so similar - both petty enough and strong-willed enough to hold a childhood grudge forever!

Man I was hoping for the suggestion where we get to see Kat up-stage Hilary multiple times.
... Actually, we may still get that. Hilary may have been vindictive even in childhood, but I think it would have taken a lot longer for Kat to get to that point of hatred. I bet she would have just tried to stay out of Hilary's way and avoid conflict. But then she continues to unknowingly copy/one-up/best Hilary, and Hilary continues to punish her for it.

Being unable to see the reason for it, Kat comes to the conclusion that there is no reason for it and starts fighting back.
And thus we get the Feud of Legend!!
