Okay, so the darn bug's carapace reflects laser fire. So... what to do next? I refer you back to my earlier suggestion about using manga-style modified melee weapons. A "power sword" or something like that.

Worse comes to worse, maybe Scarlet can try the lasers again and, this time, use the advice of the guys from Home Improvement:

Just a P.S.: I don't know who is technically responsible for clearing up collateral damage to the surrounding area after a metahuman fight. However, I wonder what Art will think when he gets their invioce for replanting the forest that I'm fairly sure Scarlet is about to demolish.

I'd say if she pounds buggy with her fists, it'll ring like a big ole bell.
