I KNOW!!! i thought they were showing new episodes every week. but the new episode is supposed to be a "scary" halloween episode so it got moved to october the somethingth. haha i doubt the shows target audience would get this reference

maybe the billboards are their way of acknowledging the older fans (or parents?)

Possibly. Gosh, it's almost as they're insinuating that the show is written and marketed for viewers of all ages and demographics, not just for little girls. I mean, this kids only show certainly doesn't have any clever references geared towards older viewers like Rarity walking by a construction site and appreciating the praises of her beauty, a poorly made bird's nest being called an outhouse, Twilight climbing onto a soap box to explain a point, books with names like "Slumber 101: All You've Ever Wanted To Know About Slumber Parties But Were Afraid To Ask," and "The Astronomical Astronomer's Almanac To All Things Astronomy", or bothersome insects trying to eat a girl's skirt.

Theyve had several other ads that are moRe targeted at older audiences. Like one was called "bridlemaides" a play on bridesmaids and another play on the "there's an app for that" with "there's a pony for that" as I mentioned earlier they seem to gear their ads toward the older audiences that most kids wouldn't get

its definitely still geared towards young kids

Its still geared toward younger kids but they add some things to it that either adults or teenagers would get. Like in one of their equiestria girls song they mention "bronies".

Read it. Hyped to hell and back. It wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. Kinda annoying to hear people going on about how gruesome it is. I was expecting much more. Kinda disappointing really.

Plus, if you're asking why someone would write it, it's the Internet; do we really expect any less by this point?
