Well, Kat's old school buddy mentioned how they had "matching auras" and that they were compatible and a perfect match. This does not mean that they will actually hook up...but that if they would it would probably work. This is of course assuming her mysticism was not nonsense. However, we have seen that they are both willing to risk life and limb to save and protect one another and look upon each other as friends (as well as being attracted to each other but not admitting it, apparently), however, they have showed similar concern for their other flat mates, Pip and Scarlet, without the consistent ongoing attraction.

The fact that Kat is willing to use words like Cuddly is a good sign that she cares enough about his feelings to at least be compationate. Of course, she still holds the line to whip his chunky ass into shape.

So...it would not be unlikely for they to eventually hook up, but it seems like a significant part of the humor is derived from sexual tension between the two as well as Kat misinterpreting different situations to believe that her flatmate (ok...HUMAN flatmate, Pip is actually a perv) is a pervert.

There is still ample fuel for jokes along the latter line considering that there are four squirrel girls with questionable knowledge of modesty.
