I think she became my favourite curio character outside of Chloe when she first turned up. Happy she's back for more.

Think of them as JJ's way to express surprise, amusement, shock, etc. Much simpler than squeezing an expression onto a small area.

With reference to the content of the strip, two scenarios immediately come to my mind:

1) Kat goes berserk because of her new-found riches and starts to load herself down with bling-bling, leading to a head-on confrontation with Hilary;

2) Pip gets wind of Kat's newfound fortune and starts trying to bum off of her to support his lifestyle.

It's not the "hot emo goth kitty" that I think everyone likes (though she's as far from emo as you can get), it could be that she's unique and intriguing. She can talk with ghosts, she has a history with Kat (whether they were just friends or something more fanservice worthy is anyone's guess), and she doesn't appear in the strip all that much.

She's the less reserved, more outgoing, curvier, darker version of Kat.
That and she hasn't made an appearance in quiet at while. Its always nice to see a face that you haven't in a long time, whether its drawn or real. (this is provided previous encounters where positive)
