Well, the Narnia cross-reference is one way of making this interesting, but now we have some entities who remind me of a cross between;
'doorman' at the "Ink club" from Roger Rabbit,
and
'flying devil monkeys' from the Wizard of Oz.

One would expect that a super intelligent girl who spent most of his live captive in a military installation, and that dedicates her free time to design and upgrade robots armors and fire guns will at least carry some kind of weapon to defend herself.

I think that it is most likely that Scarlet is currently wearing her Steel Squirrel armour. It's just that, like some variants of the Iron Man armour, we can't see it. It's currently folded away in the form or an ankle bracelet or something.

I'm just wondering if this is all some kind of artsy reference? What in the world is a satyr without thumbs supposed to represent? Or fancy dressed pantsless gorillas with tiny wings?

Either that or JJ is on some REALLY good drugs lately, given his more recent apsaras.

Well Mr. Thumbless is a reference to Mr. Tumnus from the "Chronicles of Narnia," and I think the gorillas (who are in fact wearing pants) are a reference to the flying monkeys from the "Wizard of Oz."
