I do prefer these one-off Doctor Who specials where the Doctor's given free reigns without annoying tag-alongs...

General discussion thread for the last three of David Tennant's appearences as the 10th Doctor. Let's keep this one as spoiler free as possible. I'm sure a lot of people havn't seen The Waters of Mars yet.

I'll just say the ending takes us to very dark places.

I thought it was very good. Got a lot better towards the ending.

Totally agree with you Cenaris about the ending taking us to very dark places. Cannot wait till the Christmas Episode.

It did a good job of exploring the Doctor's mortality and his feelings of old age.

The only thing I wished it explored was when ...oh spoilers, hang on I'll change the font to white.
when the spaceship exploded, and fire was on the surface of mars. Mars has no O2 for fire to be able to be created.
Not sure if that's spoiler-ish or not, better safe than sorry. For those that want to see what I wrote, highlighting it should show it up.

I, actually thought it explored what he can/should and can't/shouldn't do.

*****SPOILER*****

One of the better R.T.Davis episodes (probably because he had a co-writer).
The most interesting element of the tale was wasted, though: The Doctor going mental at the tale end. I was thinking that it was going to lead to something interesting, with him waring against time itself, but it just fizzled.

Jack, you almost spoiled it Very Happy

I think he should have stayed mental into The End of Time in December too. With...
(I'm going to make just one spoiler...)
SPOILER (highlight if you want)--
The fact he's just altered a whole possible history. Timothy Dalton being hinted to be a time lord, the whole idea of the time lords somehow coming back and apprehending the Doctor, forcing him into another regeneration and to fix the timeline would have made a good end game for Tennant's tennure on the show in addition to the whole "every has bad dreams because of the Master" story

END SPOILER --
And another thing, why do they keep bringing back the old companions? Rose is hinted to be back despite not having a way, and Donna was annoying. The only continuous one I think was really great from 2005 onwards was Jack Harkness.

Just got done watching it. Phaww.

Are there no spoiler tabs? Or am i just dense and can't find them? well, either way, possible spoiler alert. Go ahead and highlight it. Go on.

I can't wait to see what sort of repercussions the whole "messing with a fixed point" thing has. Or what he's going to try do about the shambles he's made of it.

SPOILERS DONE.

also, anyone else think some of the music was a bit odd?

While we are on the subject of television from the UK. Anybody else see the 24 hour Top Gear thing? You know, there really should be a Top Gear thread. Hey, it even appeared in a SA strip if i'm not mistaken.
