I've got a feeling that Cameron has many patsies and a lot of them have been given different stories - whatever would get their co-operation. I'm more and more sure that this is some kind of highly-elaborate put-up job to kill 2D cinema in a way that's totally deniable for the real perpetrators.

Damn, how much I hate people that don't know anything! If there's something I hate is babysitting people that do not know what their job is about.

It's James Cameron if he says that there's an invasion of course people will take him seriously. Instead he hides an let the rest do the dirty job(The whole ally with the aliens idea that I had keeps making more and more sense now)

And don't make me start in the silly sidekick who joined a resistance just to touch a 63 year old woman without asking himfelf what triggered the resistance in the fist place.

This is my assumption as well.

There are no aliens at all, the glasses are just designed to make various people look like them so he can trick them into doing what he wants.
