Ah more quotes from famous time travel movies.

Oh and:

This represents "Everything you ever needed to know about Pip in one strip cartoon". He and Hillary made such a nice couple because, basically, they have the same attitude towards the world, specifically: "Where's my cut?"

One problem, stuff's not aged or showing wear or erosion. A sharp-eyed pawn and/or collector will spot that right off the bat and the value will not be as high.

He won't get much, but it will be enough to put some change in his pocket.

Of course, a truly talented lover of Roman culture would be able to deduce that these are, in fact, genuine Roman artifacts in pristine condition, and he would probably pay straight out the ass to get his hands on them.
However, the total number of people who would be able to figure out that this was authentic Roman gear is about twenty in the world (liberally speaking), which means that you are essentially right.

Now it comes down to Geek vs. Greed. Will Pip attempt to make a fortune selling priceless Roman artifacts, or will he hoard them and brag to all his peers?

Here's how I see things going.

1. Pip sells artifacts and gets a quackload of money.

2. Pip buys company Hilary is working at.

3. Pip fires Hilary and blacklists her at every turn

4.Hilary is forced to work at thrift store for whole life, which Pip has bought just to watch her suffer.

Or he just takes the money he's earned and squanders it on something else. This is Pip we're talking about. Neutral

i would like to point out that like here in the states, where some of us love to reenact the Renascence and sell our own kin for period correct armor/shields/weapons...

in the UK there are hard core centurion reenactors who would kill for what Pip has in his little cart.

I can't help but wonder if those Roman supplies were enroute to an army which needed them.

- Cart fully of supplies vanishes.
- Roman soldiers lose because of failure to recieve supplies.
- Total alteration of historical events resulting in entirely new governmental structure and national establishment in the present?

I'd be rather more inclined to find some way to force her back into porn acting. Very Happy

Even then, with no ageing on the metal, wood and leather, I think they'd be more inclined to believe they're expertly crafted replicas. Those can fetch a pretty penny as well though.

If they do carbon dating on them, it would appear they're newly made.

Why not have it both ways? Force Hilary to work in the thrift store wearing nothing but that nightie, with a television blaring SELECTIONS from Pip's dvd collection. Twisted Evil

Im pretty sure carbon dating only works on organic matter (things that were once living). I dont think you couldn't carbon date a sword

Why? Pip looks good sans glasses, and artistically it gives JJ a whole lot more options in regards to expressions. Which is possibly the reason he got rid of the glasses in the first place.

Leather hilt-wraps / grips. Semi-wooden sheathes (depending on the legion... Not sure about the British deployments.

ElektroNeko wrote:...Roll off the cart?

A whole heck of a lot easier said than done. The static friction on those things was (and still is) a real brute. It takes a lot more effort to move them the first inch than the next 10 yards.

Not to mention within the steel is still some carbon. Anyway, this stuff is just a few days old.

The only "proof" could be the steel mixture which is typical for that roman age but would lead to some suspicions - how could anyone copy the 2.000 years forgotten mixture?

But maybe the squirrels find an "Undo" button which makes the armoury *poof* back in its time.

Well, we'll see where this time-travelling stuff goes.

Wow, that's actually much better than my ideas. Now I feel inadequate, have I mentioned how big my SUV is today?
