Kat is accidentally gonna be sent back in time and do something that'll eff with Hilary, I'm calling it.

Was she working out like crazy? Those lats.

Anyway, time travel is pretty much confirmed by now, so the only question that bothers me - what the destination will be? A few weeks ago, to prevent Pip and Hilary from meeting each other? Or going waaaay back for the sake of removing ill-fated lunchbox out of Lil' Hilary's sight?

PS: Tiny feets? FIVE toes? No claws? What a freak.

Kat is obviously gonna travel back to the day when Hilary shoved her and stole her lucnhbox, either by accident or on purpose. You heard it here first.

Also, what's up with Kat's tail in the last two panels?

Here's betting that Kat is going to become her own nemesis by trying to neutralise Hilary early on only to find that it's her fault that the feud has lasted so long. Future!Kat will be revealed as the aggravating/provoking force in every confrontation that they ever had.

"You... you're me!"

"Yes! And I have a very important message for you from the future!"

"Really? What?"

"Don't try to mess with Hillary in the past by using a time machine!"

"Hey! That's a good idea! I'll try that!"

"NOOO!!!" *vanishes*

As she has always been.

As other times, she acts like a normal cat: when she's nervous, her hair ruffle, making her tail looking so fluffy.

I love how Kat was running before Pip even finished talking Laughing

So, how do ya'll think this is gonna go down? Will Kat get there just as the newly-built "Temporal Whatchamacallit" activates?

Will it be the whole gang, Kat & the Squirrels or just Kat who get's zapped back in time?

When She/They get there will they lay low, or actually try & change things?

If the latter, will they succeed, or will it be one of those "trying to change what happened only to unintentionally cause whatever it was they were trying to prevent" type things?

Tune in next week! Same Jack Time, same Jack Channel!

1. Kat will probably arrive just in time to watch it power up for the first time and be the test subject.
2. She will probably try to change whatever she finds to fix Kat vs Hilary.
3. I think Jack is more of a "you cannot change the current timeline" type, so anything we saw happen will still have happened, even the way it has happened. So, yes, I think it'll be an "unintentionally cause whatever it was they were trying to prevent" type of thing.

Can't go back to the lunch box event and change it. That would disturb the years of animosity between the two and likely upset things too much. Their rivalry was part of their personal development. They could turn out to be completely different people. Reality could be flipped and Kat could end up being a socially inept, overweight, gamer girl (not that there is anything wrong with gamer girls) and Hilary could be sleeping with Art.

Hmm...that could be an interesting plot twist, especially if they remembered it afterward.

However, if the Squirrels made a viewer instead and Kat could see how it all started, that could provide an opportunity to fix things. Either that or go just far enough back to mess up Hilary's plans, like switching the drinks or tricking past-Pip into figuring out her plan before his heart got involved (but after the sex). Wink

One possibility (And stating it will probably nullify it, speakings that JJ will be able to see it and prevent it,) is that Kat goes back in time, meets a sad, child version Hilary who only wants a lunchbox, and thinks that showing her a little kindness will improve her attitude for the better. Of course, that snippet of jealousy at seeing that she wasn't the only one with the lunchbox resulted in the shove that started the whole feud.

And not just her tail, her elbows too got a little more fluffier. If it wasn't for the tight suit she was wearing, you'd probably note that she'd turn into a fluff-ball under stress.

I'm fairly sure that Kat is unaware of what precipitated that original contact between them, so it is unlikely she'd target that anyway. I suppose that a later school-age incident is possible.

However, I'm beginning to get a Quantum Leap vibe here. In the eponymous TV show, Dr. Samuel Beckett leaped from life to life within his own life-span, temporarily replacing some other person until he had 'made right' something that had gone wrong, according to some unknown higher power.

I'm thinking that the Squirrels are going to design their time machine to take Pip back and give him the chance to ensure that his every contact with Hillary goes 'right', with the benefit of hindsight. However, due to various natural laws, he would have to do so as someone else in that time zone to prevent a 'an object in the same place twice' paradox. I'm wondering, if Kat jumps into the Accelerator, whether she's going to find herself reliving her every interaction with Hillary from a third-party perspective and coming to realise that today's Hillary Locke is the result of a very complex and usually-unhappy personal history. She'll probably also get a rather unhappy insight into her own personal faults. So the result will be something of a journey of self-discovery for Kat that may lead to her going to said Bunny-girl back in the objective present informed by her new knowledge. Forgive? Denounce? We'll have to wait and see.

Even if they find themselves unable to change the timestream, they would still be able to get information they could use in the present. One useful aspect of being literally in two places at once is seeing things they would have missed the first time through. Knowing where the gaps are in their knowledge, they can gather information for use back in their own time, be it for blackmailing Hilary into wearing her underwear upon her head for the rest of the day, tricking her into the waiting maws of an eldritch abomination, or accidentally getting her hired off to sell makeup to vending machine-enamoured mechanoids from the planet Mars.

To expand on this, if they do the "Quantum Leap" style then I can see Kat "Jumping" into Hillary and just really screwing up Hill's life so she is stuck in the dead rnd job, or Kat just sends Hillary into the worst situation that Hillary could be in (like a long term relationship with a habitual casual cheater) and then when Kat gets pulled back, Hill gets the bad news. Cool
