From the mouths of crooks and hamsters speaks both truth and the sign of trend. also nice rhyme.

Talk about an awkward strip to label. There are so many horrible choices to label it as.

Serious hat on - I think that Alan Moore's best days are behind him. He's been getting more and more bitter of late. Compared to some of his 'classic' material, his more recent stuff has been getting more and more Frank Miller-ish - "I hate heroes! I hate the world! I hate people with faith! I hate people who are happy!" He hasn't got to the point of "women = whores" like Miller-baka yet but I doubt he's that far off.

Purely IMHO, I think that the last decent story he wrote was Top 10.

Of course, the amount of good stuff he has done has ensured that he'll be remembered as one of the 20th Century's great writers in the superhero and sci-fi genres. Frank Miller, meanwhile, will probably be remembered as the guy who created a reputation on one book (Dark Knight Returns) and then spent the rest of his career squandering it.

I wonder......... Could it possibly be more perverse than Art's ultimate fetish drawing?!

Does that mean there was money in drawing a squirrel's spooge being milked for cereal garnish, JJ?

Yeah. I suppose it must be bad if Pip actually goes over the art-vs.-filth divide.

Anne McCaffery once said that, in the '60s, sci-fi nevellists could make a month's rent by writing an alien sex lemon or two for the monthly sci-fi magazines that existed at the time. I suppose it's that way for graphic nevelists today but on a much larger scale - write a really sicko story and get someone like Kev O'Neil to draw it to make easy money from the stupid, tasteless teen demographic and have enough money to support you whilst writing the decent stuff that probably won't sell so widely.
