Did the bots do it on purpose, waiting until they could separate their target from the others? Or did Dick just wake up and decide he wanted to piss me off by shooting my favorite character, who not only is female (First offense), unaware-mostly- (Second offense), and in the back. (Third, and a major to me, offense) Guess it's my southern heritage because I want that bot offline... now.

Which is funny in a way I suppose because the other part of my southern heritage says shooting a squirrel should be considered normal. (I never could understand some folks interest in squirrel hunting, I LIKE squirrels)

Mostly I feel kinda... meh ...about it but still. Irksome robot.

Anyway; the computer tastes like coconuts? Jack add in the air comment since a few of us fans mentioned it? And do I really want to know WHY Art apologized to Kat about it becoming stale?

This can only go one of two ways. Either this hits Art's "Berserk Button" and we meet the Fatty of Doom or we're about to have an intentionally-funny parody of the "tender dying moment", at the end of which Scarlet with jump up, thank Art for the kiss and skip off completely unscathed.

Well, frankly I'm more surprised than anything else that the Daleks Eldaks actually shoot their guns and yell, rather than just shouting "EXTERMINATE!" and not doing anything.

She's got super armor on, she'll be fine.

"Tastes like coconuts." Oddly reminds me of Iron Man 2 when Tony Stark uses the new element and starts to juice up from it.

I presume Scarlet's armour has some kind of energy shield or some kind of energy absorption tricks or something like that. Maybe when she takes a hit it translates into something that benefits her? Maybe she could morph ball it outta' there? There's something very Metroid inspired about the general design of Scarlet's power suit. In that case it's very very durable. It probably has lots of energy tanks.

As for coconut, she obviously programmed some kind of tech into the fingers that translates digital signals into taste.

I doubt she absorbed anything, the bits and pieces from her suit, don't seem to look like it absorbed, rather than damaged her suit quite heavily.

Could this be the end of Scarlet? Jack did say somewhere years and years ago she was meant to be a bit part character who gets carted away to the crazy house or something.

I agree with the agoraphobia bit for Amber, Jade and Violet, but Scarlet never had that problem, she would probably be in the suit (which it's just likely damaged) while the other 3 pilot their suits from the lab tunnels via a ultra sophisticated link-up system; which in my mind is similar to 'The Matrix' and how they plug in.

Dunno if some of you guys missed it, but one of the earlier strips clealy shows Scarlet's face after she had temporarily removed her armor's visor. So yea, she's definitely in that suit.





Also, based on what we know of Quinten related tech I am doubtful Scarlet has been injured at all.

I mean if the Squirrels can make an impenetrable bubble outta thin air then their armor has to be pretty good in it's own right. Regardless tho, it would be cool to see Art get so freaked out by Scarlet's "demise" that he goes and rampages on the remaining Eldaks with his Furious Anti-Tech Fists™.

Two words: 'Reactive Armour'. Basically, it's a material that explodes back in the direction of an incoming attack to nullify the incoming force. I know that it's currently used on some types of armoured vehicle; It isn't impossible that this technology was developed by Quinten and is thus available to the Quads.

Alternately, it could be ablative armour instead, deliberately cooking off to suck up the attack energy.

I've been messing about with a theory for a bit now.

So it absorbs energy and reroutes it through cables, right? So lazer in, lazer out.

Sound real? Didn't think so.

Scientifically IF you could absorb the HEAT produced by the laser, the energy that makes a weaponized laser so dangerous, reroute said excess of energy derived by absorbing this heat into said suit or weapon on suit. About what you could get from absorbing energy of a laser. Closest you could get to Laser in Laser out.

There's no way JollyJack would kill off Scarlet. She's way too popular. As for the coconuts, the Quads are able to interface directly with computers, as established in a flashback. Also in this flashback: interfaces with different systems have different tastes.
