Sorry for opening a new topic for it, it would fit spam lounge, but this way it's more visible.

I have a following situation - I'm giving my Xbox 360 to a friend who is a volunteer and she works with kids at a, relatively, nearby orphanage. Obviously, it'll be for kids.
Thing is, the staff of the institution she works in is quite picky about ESRB ratings and most of my games are 16+, thus, I'll have to sell few of them and look for used games for kids age 7-16, or for everyone, max to to 16 y.o. The staff won't take anything rated 18+.

I have Viva Pinata, Eternal Sonata and Banjo Kazooie : Nuts 'n' Bolts. I know that they'll take Virtua Fighter 5 and Street Fighter 4 form me, because, as my friend told me, they had VF4 on the PS2 which was broken quite recently(hence why she told me about the situation in the first place), so the staff turns a blind eye to those kind of games, as long as there is no blood in them.

But I'm looking for games that are good for younger kids, around 5-10 y.o., or some 12+. I totally don't know about that kind of stuff, the games I've mentioned before were picked by my brother(my cash though) and it would be nice if you'd reccommend me something for that age group.

Nothing for Kinect though, I don't have that. Very Happy

I dunno. Street Fighter? It's ESRB 12 here. They'd like that I'm sure. Though I think there's very minimal amounts of Blood (Vega's ultras) and some suggestive themes (Juri implies she liked to r*pe her beaten foes in some of her win quotes) so maybe not.

If anything make sure you got your account and credit card details wiped off though. You don't want kids buying stuff with your money.

I never made any transactions, nor I given original info about me and I'm registered on adress of Polish ambassy in UK as there was(and still isn't) Xbox LIVE in Poland... and no way in hell I'm gonna give info 'bout my credit card on the internet. I'm an old-school guy, when I want to make any financial transaction I go to a bank. It's 100m away from my place.

And, like I said, SFIV is going along with the console. I don't have Super SFIV, so there won't be Juri. And, in fact it is 12+. Never looked at that too much, though.

So, any suggestions?

I`d suggest some arcade racegames. Burnouts will do. Unless they don`t want the kids to crash in the game... Then it`s a bad choice. I`ve played lots of racers when I was little. (Or that`s because the fact that my parents didn`t want to buy shooting games... anywho... I still prefer racer above shooters)

No, racing games are fine, I have Burnout : Paradise that'll go to and Forza Motosport 3. Don't know why I bought them in the first place, maybe because my friends don't like vs fighting games and when they want to play either soccer game or racing one. Like I said, anything goes, without being to graphic, but I have to focus on games especially for kids, and no, no arcade, I can't download them, I don't have LIVE and I don't want to play with that stuff. Always were aversed to it, always will. If I play multi, it's either hot-seats in some fighting game with friend and if I play FPS, it's on lan. I like to see my opponent and hit him over the head if he's cheating or being an annoyance. Smile

Titles, man, I need titles.

With arcade games I meant: Slight over the top. Just like burnout is. The new NFS: HP is also slightly arcade.

But games on a xbox for kids? THE FPS console of this genre? Kinda hard dude... I`ll open a topic on one of the game forums i`m a member from when i`m back home...

Yup. Most of games for kinect that I heard off are cartoony, non blood and whats best: most fun in groups of kids.

Kinect isn't possible. I won't toy with that. It's too expensive for polish market, a price of a new console. So what if I'd sell my games and buy kinect if I would have no cash left to buy games?

I might exchange Xbox 360 with my games for PS2 with over 30+ games though. Or maybe Wii, but my friend, that organizes the whole thing, said the kids want either X360 or PS3. Can't say why though. Very Happy

Yeah theres not that many 7-16 games that would be appropriate to be played even in front of someone's parents so a PS2 or Wii would be the best choice. Mario Party is a excellent game as well as the Super Smash bros series of games.

Naw, called my friend today, she's currently at the orphanage, as she's volounteering there on Saturdays and she was told again by the kids, that they want Xbox 360 if I have Xbox 360.

For now I'm allowed to give:
Virtua Fighter 5(16+),
Street Fighter 4(12+),
Fable 2&3(16+),
Eternal Sonata(12+)
Viva Pinata(3+)
Banjo Kazooie : N&B(7+)
Burnout : Paradise(7+) - though I think I'll exchange it for Burnout : Revange, as it has split-screen.
Bully(15+)

Forza Motosport 3(7+)

And since there are lot's of kids who are fans of football there, I'm getting either FIFA 11 or FIFA 10. Also, I have Pure on my eye, maybe some Tony Hawk game or Skate 2, although the latter is quite difficult IMO.

Also, the majority of kids there are 7-16, mostly around 12-14, young teens, so they like to play something slightly above their range, and - fortunatelly - most folks in my country aren't fu**ed up enough to actually listen to some idiotic raters. My friend will talk with the staff about games like GTAIV, Condemned 2 or Far Cry 2, I'd like to give all I have, and if they didn't like it, they could sell it like they did with most of their PS2 games or exchange it later on some game-trading website. They have net connection, and the kids are internet-savvy, so there shouldn't be a problem.

And you should absolutely get Pure... Its a perfect overthetop-ish race game. Out of skate 2 and TH? Earlyer tony hawks... Though I like Skate 2 better for the older kids there. It`s a bit harder... But what is better then knowing you can do stuff you worked hard for? About the FIFA? Get 11.

Hope we can help you out more with this :3

You could get them any of the LEGO titles: Lego Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Batman, etc.

Asides from that you have to settle with licsenced games or DLC titles like Castle Crashers, Super Meat-Boy, or the similar.

Now, I've only played the PC version, and I couldn't really figure out from your above posts whether XBox LIVE Arcade is or isn't available to you, but DeathSpank is quite fun... Smile

I forgot that you were in a different country. At least your not in Australia, I forget we get them cheap here in the States.

We all know those kids want Halo and Call of Duty, but rules are rules.

Mercenaries 2 is a good one. Its rated T for teen, and its a toned down Grand Theft Auto minus Blood and hookers.

No, Halo 3 would pass, but what's the point of playing it without Xbox Live? I highly doubt that authorities of the orphanage would pay monthly fee. Of course, there is a possibility that kids would pay themselves, if they'd want to.

Funny thing is, that they had GTA : San Andreas on the PS2. Very Happy

So maybe I'll push GTAIV with it? Very Happy

Castle Crashers is a pretty good game for parties, probably for 13-16

Well, I have that Microsoft abomination no more. It went to kids as christmas gift and my friend that works there as a volounteer said that they loved it... not so much as the caretakers - you know the type.

Thanks for your suggestions.
