Style Creation: SOS

This is probably the most selfish topic on this site but oh well. I understand there are a few artists on this site that have either gone through making their own style or are in the process. I would really appreciate it if any of those artists would tell how they made it through or how they are dealing with it.
If this topic proves to be a waste of space on the site, please remove it if you can JJ.

I agree. It'll happen.

Pick an artist of a month, I'd say, the one that got your attention lately. Re-draw his pictures and be focused on the details that make his artwork unique/interesting.
Then pick annother one. And do the same.

And while you're doing it, try drawing your own stuff with the knowledge and skill you've gained while researching the other artists. Get a little something from every artist you admire.

And, eventually, you'll find your own style.

I think I'll start with Jay Naylor

My two cents:

First cent: Keep drawing. It's what I should be doing to be honest.
second cent: Is there any particular artist you enjoy looking at? Sometimes it helps to look at those influences.

Should we rephrase, pick an artist every month that isn't Jay Naylor.

Its weird doing Jay Naylor again, since he was who got me started drawing again about three months ago. I did spend about an entire month or three weeks drawing Fisk, so I kinda have a head start. I'm only gonna do Jay Naylor for a few days.

Pietja gets +1 for good advice and +1 for stating it first.

yeah, i'm done copying Naylor (happy Smelge?). For the time being, i'm just gonna draw whatever the heck i feel like drawing
