Hey guys. Sorry, no new strip this week, finals and Portal 2 are keeping me well busy. I'll definitely aim to have one up next week if I get the time to finish it up. I did start it, don't fret. Dustin's in it too, and Raquel, who's surprisingly had some very satisfied reception for just one strip o_o. Can't wait to flesh her out.

Anywho, enjoy this filler art until I finish it up.

Hmm, let's see if I can tell you more about it without spoilers..

I guess you could say that it more or less just kinda came to me. The first time I ever drew my little Zenny was way back in a old crappy comic. Labeled her as the outcome of my mental "cute girl generator", and she appeared in a hypothetical scenario, thus no chain. Later on, I decided that I really liked the idea of the "ideal girl" being an actual character. Gives me something interesting to work with and toy around with. That, and I liked her conceptual look, being of rather indeterminate species (which is canon by the way).

In development of her character, I wanted to make it clear that she was bound to my mind. If she were just there floating near me all the time, all that says to me is that she's a ghost/spirit/imaginary friend, so I added the chain around her ankle to show that it's a deeper link than that. I thought it'd be boring if the chain was just handheld like a leash, and I didn't want to make her look blatantly like my slave, so I figured do something more interesting; attach it to my head. I guess you could say that there's a slight bit of FLCL influence that may or may not have subconsciously sparked that. Took the idea of the Mental Chain/Brain Chain - whatever you want to call it, I haven't given it an official name yet - and ran with it. I worked it into the story, and more will be explained in time :).

Been a while, huh? You'll have to forgive me, moving out of college for the summer and such has been a hassle. I'm back on the weekly schedule now.

And yes, in the Universe of FJRA, animals who would normally have fewer in this boring.. "real world" have more sweat glands, but not very many more.

Sure, comic making's a pain, but it's fun and damn worth it when you finish.

It's like Jay Naylor says, don't focus so much on the "doing" part, but keep in mind the "fuck yeah, I just did that" feeling you'll get once it's done. There's nothing like it :).

Damn, why does it take me so long to put together just one strip? Seriously, this took me like upwards of 25 hours total somehow. I need to work on speed.

Also, I think it's about time I get my own site. Or at least hit up Comic Genesis or something instead of leaking it out through forums and DA. I'll get my buddy to help me out.

Anywho, Raquel's becoming my favorite recently. I need to keep making her cuter. And maybe pick on her a bit less :P.

He drew me an interesting interpretation of June a while back in lieu of a comment made by a fellow message board member.

I liked it, but can no longer find it, so I made one myself for me based off of his.

That and L.A. Noire may or may not keep me from getting a comic up this week .

I don't know the names of your characters but my only suggestion is that when you color them, give the black cat one a lighter colored outline so that you can see her better. It wouldn't necessarily have to be white, maybe the shade you used for highlights in her hair, but that way you can tell easier where, her arm for example, is when it's in front of her body.

Frist, on that Drawing of Sam, I noticed that their was varying sizes in lines that got thicker and thinner. how did you do that? Pressure Sensor?

I don't know about you guys, but posting comic strips here isn't the best idea. It is really good effort and really nice, but in contrast to what JolyJack has, it's really difficult to comment.

+ Cartoon animals for some reason are really start to overfill this area oO
