So, I was hoping to get an honest opinion from you guys on something. I'm a bit of an entrepreneur. I graduated this spring and have not been able to get a full-time job as an electrical engineer, so I'm doing some contract work and designing open-source hardware to hopefully sell in kit form sometime this year (if you haven't noticed, there has been a major resurgence in do-it-yourself, hacking, and "making" culture). I have a website, a name for my business, and, of course, a logo by which to be identified. Let it be noted that I am an engineer, and while I do consider PCB layout to be a kind of art, it does not make me qualified as a visual designer. Still, I think I did a good job, but I want your guys' honest opinion: is this a good logo?

Ideally, it appears as light lettering on a dark background, but also appears as black lettering on a white background as in the case of the invoices I send to clients.

I'd almost try taking out the smaller I in Gilbert because it sorts looks like Giilbert to this untrained eye. Or maybe a different font for the ilbert and ndustries parts so they stand out a bit more. But I like the concept and the background. Better than I could do.

You have designed a logo, yet you only designed one, create at least 10, then we will be able to give you a good opinion.

Looks nice, fits what you've said your doing. It's simple and neat and that is, IMO, most important.

Still, I partially agree with Dreadstunlock. While we can give you our opinions(if the'll be good that's a different thing though) about this one logo, it'd be better to have some more in your sleeve to choose from.

Also, what's the website adress? It'd be good if you'd gave it to us so we could compare if logo fits it.
