Okay, away from Smelge's bloody, psychologically disturbed fantasies, back to the actual real strip.

Seriously... is anyone actually surprised by this latest twist? We have a spooky house with hidden (possibly haunted) cave system underneath. Of course Vanity found it almost immediately and then she and Kat fell into it by accident. The only question to be answered is whether the next strip will be drawn in a Silent Hill-style 'Negative' style or whether it will be more Tomb Raider (athletic Kat!) rather than psychological horror ("Van, those killer zombie nurses all look like Art!").

If we do the former, Kat is likely to find the smugglers' gold eventually. If it is the latter, the gold will be cursed and the zombies will turn out to be sugar-intollerant (Pez can slay zombies!).

So you think they're in another room or stuck in a hole that small. And how long till the guys find them? Wandering off by theirselves is never a good idea.

I think that the trapped spirit is in another castle...erm...another tunnel.

I'm guessing that they've found an enterance to the hidden smugglers' caves. The 'trapped spirit' might be a previous treasure hunter (and prior owner of the house) who fell foul of the Ancient Curse (TM).

This storyline will probably end with Kat and Van, tired, battered, filthy and dragging a couple of chests full of cursed pirate gold, appearing at the front door of the house (having walked up from where the caves end by the beach). The guys will be surprised to see them, having been so wrapped up in their experiments and beer that they never realised they were gone!

PS: I bet Scarlet even kept her WCC! How else could she and her sisters claim that their escape was a triumph?
